Here are the planned version upgrades of our technology stack for the OpenPanel version 0.1.5 (scheduled to be released in June 2024):
- Nginx 1.19 will be upgraded to 1.25 to introduce support for QUIC and HTTP/3
REDIS 6 will be upgraded to 7.2 which is much faster Completed in v0.1.5
- NodeJS 16 will be replaced with NodeJS 20 LTS as the default version for PM2
- PHP 7.4 & 8.2 will be replaced with 8.2 and 8.3 as the default versions for new accounts. Administrators will still have an option to set this values and end users can still install any PHP version from their user interface.
- Python 3.9 will be replaced by 3.12 to introduce support for the c 1.2
- phpMyAdmin will be updated from 5.1.1 to 5.2
The following technologies versions will remain unchanged until further notice:
- MySQL 8 will still be the default version, but support for MariaDB is on the way
- Memcached remains on version 1.6.15
- Apache remains in stable 2.4.X branch
- BIND9 remains on version 9.16
It's important to note that this planned upgrades will not in any way be applied to any existing users, but only new users that will be added in OpenPanel versions 0.1.5 and newer.
